I couldn’t stand falling asleep while I studied for school! Studying during the course of my freshman year of college became very frustrating, de-motivating, and depressing. I am going to talk about a ton of research I did on my own my freshman year when I was searching for a way to maximize my brain power.
I couldn’t understand why I repetitively fell asleep while sitting in a quiet room studying my textbooks. Of course I was trying to keep up with the competitive students in the curriculum, as well as the teacher, so when I couldn’t focus, and became afraid of going to study in the library for fear of being attacked by the drowsy monster I became frustrated, depressed, and unmotivated to study. I had to find a solution to my problems, so that I could become better, and become a great student. That is why I began doing research on my own time to find out why.
I came across 4 basic brain pyramid building blocks I am going to go a little in depth on to for the purpose of sharing the cool info I found. Then, I am going to talk about the ways to use the brain capability to get better at: taking better notes, store and recall information (for exams, etc.), concentrate better and longer, and opening your mind to see the big picture during lectures, class, or reading.
I want to end by summarizing what Arizona University’s Robert Olney taught in “How to get A’s in College” and how it directly matches what is presented here. It is pretty intriguing!
Hopefully, I can organize it just right so that you can just jump right to the article that is interesting for you, but I am not sure if that is possible.
This is from my own research, along with some personal experience such as ‘what else worked for me.’
